The Trip that Wasn't... and PrEaster/Pi Day

Come on, guys! Let's get packing! Gonna travel to NewOrleans and Daddy's gonna run a race in MS! It will be your first time on a plane! We get to miss school for three days! And it may be warmer down there... or at least there won't be snow!

They are completely useless.
;)

The night before our trip was a massive snowstorm... we drove through a 'State of Emergency' to get to the airport. Our flight had been rescheduled for later in the day. Boys kept busy feeding pigeons old cookies and running around on the escalator (until airport lady told them not to... note to EWR: get a children's play area set up, seriously).

Waiting, waiting, waiting... Waited on the plane for two hours.
And then, we realized we were going to miss our connection. And be stuck in TX should the plane ever leave EWR.

So, we just... stayed in Jersey.
Kids had a blast sledding at the hill by the library.

Trenton got to play in his last basketball game of the season. Got his first basketball trophy, too.

And the weather eventually got weird. Like, wear a t-shirt and there is still snow on the ground. But I sent them out anyway, for the fresh air. Here's their compromise.

We celebrated Pi Day (3.14.15) with the Konopacks, enjoying a fantastic Easter dinner. The boys made some bunny crafts with Grandma, Bryan, Caroline, and Aunt Carolyn.

Guys and Dolls PTO bowling event was a huge hit. Thanks to Grandma Lacina for bowling with the boys while I took care of coordinating the event.

And finally, Jim and I made it out for a relaxing Chocolate Lovers Weekend in Ocean Grove. I'm a sucker for 1) the beach 2) free anything 3) free chocolate and 4) spending quality time with this guy ;)

Winter Snow

It was a good winter.
Kids had at least a handful of  snow days and some pretty great snow to play in.

Spent lots of time indoors reading, checking out new Christmas gifts, watching TV...

When Jim wasn't around, I put the kids to work shoveling the driveway. HA!

Oliver dressed as a Rock Star for school one day. Above, celebrating Uncle Len's BD. Below, a massive lemon meringue pie slice.Definitely blog-worthy.

This is what you look like when you are 100 days smarter than you were when you started kindergarten. Oliver has a fantastic teacher this year and the entire kindergarten had some really neat activities for the kids to participate in to mark the special occasion.

Oliver making a goofy smile, but showing off his "Always Awesome, Today and Every Day" shirt.
Celebrating Grampack's birthday in style, with an ice cream cake!

Trenton's teacher engaged the entire class in a really neat project-- taking one large ball of play dough and proportioning it out to illustrate the actual differences in sizes of the planets. Pluto is nothing but a speck!

Christmas 2014

Boys were insistent that we leave out enough carrots to cover ALL participating reindeer.

Spent Christmas Eve with the Lacinas. Beautiful family picture taken at church.

Gift-opening joys

Christmas Morning!

Spending Christmas Day with the Konopacks

Jim's family gave us a dual kayak as a gift! We're so excited to use it this summer!

Post-Christmas visits with Alary & Averie!
