Long Lost Last Photos

 Well hey there!
This post has the last few photos that I was able to take on my trusty old Nikon CoolPix. There is some kind of problem with the lens... but I was able to get these off of it.
Few pics here from a Friday galavanting at the beach, just me and Ollie.

They say that September is "locals' summer". No traffic, few people... and still some great sunny days. We bummed around in Manasquan and then he slept peacefully in the stroller for a bit while I did the same. Niiiice.

Can you see the action shot above? That's Trenton, playing goalie. He's on a team with first and second graders this year... and they are all boys. So far, he loves it. I'm pretty sure he blocked the ball above...

And these are the two pictures I have from Vermont!
Jim ran a 50K in New Hampshire, and we stayed at a motel just across the border in Vermont. It was a nice, long family weekend.

Here is the Grafton Village Cheese Shop. There were so many things to taste in this place, it was amazing! However, we weren't too sure about refrigerating what we were going to buy... so we ended up leaving with just jellies...

The pictures below were taken with my old LG Phone. Jim's mom showed me how to get them off the phone and onto the computer... I'd never figured out how to do that!
Jim and the boys before the race.
Below, the boys check out a very old-looking cemetery.

Beautiful greenery. Few crowds. No traffic. Great food.
Makes you want to seriously consider moving here.

Until you realize how far away you'd be from this...

Hidey Ho, NeighbOrs!

This is a test post, created on my new Phone. It takes forever to type but dang it's so fast if you speak it.!

Explanation:
I got a new phone! It is very smart (so they say) but the learning curve is kinda steep... please bear with me!
I've decided I like to do most things (grading papers, blogging, writing an email) on a REAL computer, as I am a particularly wordy person and I do not like pecking at a tiny screen to get my point across...
This post was an experiment with the Blogger app that I downloaded to my phone.
If anyone knows  how to turn the darn pictures around, please leave a comment ;) I feel like I need to do that on the phone before I transfer it here. And I've forgotten how to rotate them once on Blogger!

Further back story:
Camera's lens broke or something... decision was made to get a Smartphone due to the camera & video capabilities. Semester is heating up, down-time is floating away, and blogging/picture taking is getting sparse. I promise to spend some time figuring out how to take pics, get them to blogger, and get you updated! But for now, call it "The September of Few Pictures" ;)

Central Park, Mommy & Ollie

Oliver wanted to go to the zoo soooo baaad.
Jim was home with a sore throat, and T was off to school... so we took the bus into the city.
Above, Ollie poses with some dude. Too cool with those sunglasses on. Below, Central Park horses!

Snow leopards

Ahh, the polar bear!

Ducks, geese, and turtles

"You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours"

Most adorable kid on a turtle, ever.
The last time we were here, I posted a picture of the boys in this same egg shell.

The Children's Zoo section was Oliver's favorite. Especially feeding the goats.

And back to the park. We met up with Jennifer, Brayden, Barron, & Benjamin and did a little sight-seeing walk and a trip to the playground.

Frog Pond.
Did you know there is a castle in CP?

Ice cream!
And a bus ride home :)

Oliver's First Day of School... Trenton's, too ;)

 Look at that kid.
He's not supposed to go to school! He's the little one! Who sticks with Momma all day! And naps!
But nooo. He's now off to school!
 He couldn't be happier.
I guess two mornings a week is a good way to start.
 Now, this other kid here...
He's finally going for the full day, five days a week.
"That's six and a half hours, Mom."
I got a bit sad when I had to pack him a lunch. I'm going to miss lunching, just the three of us, every day.
He picked out his own clothes. He didn't know many kids in his class. But he was excited to wait at the bus stop with the rest of the neighbors.

After dropping T off at the bus, Ollie and I came home and played a bit, just the two of us. Above, Oliver puts together the Kinder City game that used to be his Grandma Konopack's toy!

And then we were off to preschool. Where, apparently, you need to strike a superhero pose each time mom asks to take your picture. (Marleigh, above, is probably thinking "What the heck is he doing?")
"Momma, if I miss you, can I tell the teachers and they'll come and get you? Like at the gym?"
Sure buddy.
But that wasn't necessary. He made a friend and played Legos. And had animal crackers. And was laughing and hanging out when I came to pick him up.
 These boys deserved cake.
So we sang "Happy First Day of School to You" and ate cake with as  many sprinkles as we wanted.

It's going to be a great year.
