Trenton's Ninth Birthday

Trenton turned NINE. Yup.
This year, he chose three friends to join him for dinner and shenanigans at iPlay America, a local indoor amusement park. They have go karts, bumper cars (on massive air cushions), and lazer tag.

They also had a candy store. Talk about a sugary- goody bag!

Goofing off at his family party.
This kid is so big, so strong, so in love with reading... Trenton is a fantastic big brother, an enthusiastic learner, and always willing to make you laugh.

We love you, buddy. Happy birthday!

Winter Snow

It was a good winter.
Kids had at least a handful of  snow days and some pretty great snow to play in.

Spent lots of time indoors reading, checking out new Christmas gifts, watching TV...

When Jim wasn't around, I put the kids to work shoveling the driveway. HA!

Oliver dressed as a Rock Star for school one day. Above, celebrating Uncle Len's BD. Below, a massive lemon meringue pie slice.Definitely blog-worthy.

This is what you look like when you are 100 days smarter than you were when you started kindergarten. Oliver has a fantastic teacher this year and the entire kindergarten had some really neat activities for the kids to participate in to mark the special occasion.

Oliver making a goofy smile, but showing off his "Always Awesome, Today and Every Day" shirt.
Celebrating Grampack's birthday in style, with an ice cream cake!

Trenton's teacher engaged the entire class in a really neat project-- taking one large ball of play dough and proportioning it out to illustrate the actual differences in sizes of the planets. Pluto is nothing but a speck!

Preparing for Christmas!

Always having a blast at the Livingston's Christmas Party. An early one this year. Darryl, Sue, Tom, Lynn, and Nicole and Rodney are great poker partners, too ;)

Took the kids to an awesome MU basketball game. Photobombed by the guy behind us.

Boy totally loving croutons. Go figure.

One thing they always look forward to when decorating for any holiday is the collection of themed books that I'll bring out. Christmas produces the most, of course.

Decorating the tree.

Adorable sleeping child.

Making crafts with Grandma Lacina at her church's holiday celebration.

Both boys in the nativity play again this year. King Herod and a Shepard.

These pictures do no justice to just how EXCITED OLIVER WAS TO SEE SANTA! We love that he comes around each year on the fire truck ;)

Making gingerbread houses with Trenton in his class.

Adam the Elf causing mischief? Nope. He's generally just something the boys look forward to discovering each morning. Always hanging out in a new spot.

Oliver was the Clown Narrator in his kindergarten production of "The Little Engine That Could".

Trenton is absolutely loving basketball. His game gets better each week. Below, Harrison is about to throw him a pass.
