Haunted House

Yesterday we went to Bobby's house and built Haunted Houses out of gingerbread. T was so excited and has not stopped talking about eating it since we brought it home! I'm surprised the thing is still standing...
Lots of fondant and icing, that's for sure.

This is why we have an IKEA couch-- the better to make forts with!

Pumpkins

Field trip day for T's preschool! We headed out to A&S Farms, in East Windsor, for a hayride and pumpkin picking time with the rest of the 4 year-olds. Above, Bobby, T, and Harrison stittin' pretty atop the hay.

Each kid got to pick a pumpkin and a gourd, and got a small Indian corn and coloring book. Not bad for $5. Trenton chose quickly and asked for help in breaking the stem. We plan to either color them, paint them (probably not-- too messy for now), or carve them closer to Halloween.

Getting pictures of Ollie near a pumpkin has become my October mission. Remember this one from last year? I think it is the blue eyes and the orange pumpkin that seals the deal...

Sweet boy. He's been teething baaaad, eating like a bird, up at odd hours and early in the morning. Gave him ibuprofen last night (doctor's suggestion) to help with the pain. This morning he ate two and a half bananas and some yogurt and promptly puked it all up about an hour later. He's now taking his second nap of the day.

If I could somehow add a smell to this picture, you'd know how delicious my house feels right now. We got organic pumpkins and acorn squash from the farm today... I baked two pies with the pumpkin and froze the rest for later. The turnips, rutabaga, mustard greens, etc. have got to be eaten soon... Going to search on allrecipes.com now for some ideas.

Oops

So I'm realizing that I haven't posted in awhile! Things have been busy around here... We listed the condo and are hoping to sell and move within the same town. T's started school and my class is heating up. Ollie is teething and keeping us awake all hours of the night, and usually 5:30 every morning.
Yes, T's face is a mess in both pictures.
