MD/DC/VA Trip

Once again, we were off gallivanting in the DC area... too much fun! Many friends! Great weather!
B-shwaw!

We spent the entire (10-5) day at the National Zoo. So did a few thousand other people.
Chris, Jared, Marcus, and Ethan were able to meet up with our boys and Nora.
Needless to say, the boys were ecstatic to see their cousins.

The animals were not very showy.  I forgot that most of the time, in the summer, they are hiding out somewhere, trying to stay cool. Makes it hard to see them. But here are a few that we caught on camera.

 Elephant!

Turtle!

Monkey and her baby!
 Giant Panda!

Nice orangutan. Not long after this picture was taken, he became annoyed with the audience, and turned his backside to the window...

Orangutans outside! No high-wire tricks this visit, though.

 This zoo is HUGE!

Many thanks to Cathy and Zak for hosting us this weekend... Zak made AMAZING crepes that I've yet to replicate... Nora is just adorable ;)
We drove out to Fredericksburg, VA to visit with my cousin David, his wife Jen, and their son David. The salt-water pool was AWESOME and very warm. I had never been to their home before, and it was beautiful! Jen made a fantastic fish dinner, too. It was great to spend time with them!

David was  a great kid-sitter... kept the boys busy... as did their two dogs.

The end.... looong drive home.
