See that mountain behind us and to the right? That mountain is technically in France. It's called Mont Saleve. We'd been staring out at at from our dorm window ever since we arrived in Geneva.
The three pictures that follow are a panorama, taken from left to right out of our window. The white stuff on the side of the mountain was sand, not snow. It was over 3,000 feet to the top and looked like it would offer a great view of the city. So... Jim and Chris decided to hike the thing! I came along for a bit. But let me tell you, the hike was quite steep and gave me quite a workout. I turned around after the first look-out point, but the guys made it to the top, had a beer at the restaurant there, and took some fantastic pictures with Chris's camera (to be added at a later date). Take a look at Jim's feet after the hike: I think this may have been the highlight of the trip for Jim :) It took them longer than they thought to get up there, look around, and hike back down. Sounds like they took 'the path less traveled' on the descent and were lucky to make it back alive.
